The 90s had a look all its own, and a lot of it is coming back in style today. This One Gotta Go card puts four signature trends on the rack: overalls with one strap down, a backwards cap, windbreaker jackets and high-top sneakers with everything.

Three trends stay in fashion forever, and one goes in the donation bin. Think about the outfits in your old school photos, the trend you still wear without shame and the one you would never be caught in again. Then make your pick and bring out the old photos if you dare to prove it.

The 4 choices on this card

A. Overalls with one strap down

Overalls with one strap down were a bold move made famous by 90s TV stars and music videos. They were fun and easy. They were also a little silly, and one strap always seemed to slip at the wrong moment, which makes them an easy cut.

Keep it if: You rocked the one strap look in your school photos and you still think overalls are cute and comfy.

B. Backwards cap

A backwards cap was the easiest way to look cool in the 90s, from sports fans to pop stars. It still works today. Because it never fully went away, some people see it as less of a 90s trend and more of an everyday habit.

Keep it if: You have never stopped wearing your cap backwards and you think it still looks great with anything.

C. Windbreaker jackets

Windbreaker jackets came in bright colors and made a loud swishing sound with every step. They were everywhere. They also did not keep you very warm or dry, which makes them the least practical trend on this card.

Keep it if: You loved the bright color blocking, the swish sound and the matching pants that came with it.

D. High-top sneakers with everything

High-top sneakers went with everything in the 90s, from jeans to shorts to dresses. They are a classic. They are also everywhere today, so cutting them as a trend might not change much, but you would lose a staple.

Keep it if: You have a favorite pair of high-tops and believe they go with literally every outfit you own.

Our take

We would cut overalls with one strap down. They are a great throwback, but the other three are still part of how people dress today, while the one strap look mostly lives on in old photos. The most fun debate usually comes down to windbreakers, since some people love the bold colors and others remember the swishing sound with a shudder. Ask everyone to share their most memorable 90s outfit, photos encouraged. Then vote on which trend deserves a full comeback next year.
